HUSTLES
***HUSTLES***
*** WHAT DOES HUSTLE MEAN?***
1. To make strenuous efforts to obtain something especially money or business.
2. To obtain money by fraud or deception.
HUSTLE can mean what you think of it but you should know it has a positive and negative meaning.
Fraudsters are also HUSTLING to make it in this big fat world.
Someone who HUSTLES is a HUSTLER and in 1825 HUSTLER means "Thief" but that's not all it means now.
We have been hustling from the womb as millions of sperm cells strive to reach the female ovary which is more like USAIN BOLT doing 200m men race at the Olympics to claim the trophy.
Never let anyone bring you down in life saying you are a failure and you can't make it in life no matter how hard you try, don't let your present predicament slow you down for you are a VICTOR from the day you came into this world.
At every stage or age in life we have a different battle to fight;
1. As kids we have to fight sicknesses like growing of teeth which is very difficult for babies, if you have one you will feel sorry for them. Many kids have died because they were too weak to beat that sickness.
Teething and fever: In both cases, kids and parents often go through a hard time. Sleepless nights and a whiny, unhappy offspring – both usually goes hand in hand with a fever. Eruption of teeth also weakens the immune system which then again makes the child susceptible to fever causing infections.
You and I made it through and that is a big victory we refuse to accept.
2. As teens we pass through a lot also. Having to start a few journeys away from our parent's protection and we face bullying at school. If you attended a government school you may probably remember all the inter school fights orchestrated by school thugs. Teachers will secure themselves in the teacher's room with an iron door leaving us to find protection for ourselves; some students get injured while others were killed just because they wore the rival uniform and our parents ain't there to look after us or protect us.
You still do not think you are a VICTOR for overcoming all that...?
3. As a young adult in the university far far away from parental care even if the University or Polytechnic is close to your home it still doesn't mean your parents can protect you.
Schools are now full of cultist, thugs and kidnappers amongst other violent sects. You spent years for just a paper certificate with sleepless nights reading and studying to make it and be a better person in life.
Lecturers treating you bad, students doing same thing to you, still we finish that battle.
With all of that you still think you are a failure...?
4. A year serving in a strange land doing NYSC (I'm still of the opinion it should be scrapped) just because of the greed and embezzling intent of some people, young adults are sent on a journey to an insecure state in the name of rendering a service to the country. Youth corpers have died or had accidents or kidnapped but you and I are here today after all these hustles.
It really doesn't matter if you are born into a rich home or poor home, we all faced shit and we are still here. A child born into a rich home is also at risk of getting spoilt or corrupt by the spirit of money;
**Many became addicted to drugs.
**Many are tempted by this money and killed there parent just so they can have it all to themselves.
**Many committed suicide for one reason or two and you think being a child of a rich man is all good because you are poor..? It's good but it also comes with lots of embargoes too.
You practically sponsored your education and made it through but because you haven't landed that great paying job you began to see yourself as a failure or you start doubting your effort; bro, I say to you stand up and push through, never give up for your time will surely come. Don't let them bring you down to dust, you are where you are today so let your light shine for tomorrow, you are going higher, don't let the world bring your HOPE crashing like you have not hustled at all.
A song from a movie really helped me and is still helping me push more- GREATEST SHOWMAN
This Is Me
Keala Settle;
[Verse 1: Lettie Lutz]
I am not a stranger to the dark
"Hideaway," they say
"'Cause we don't want your broken parts"
I've learned to be ashamed of all my scars
"Runaway," they say
"No one'll love you as you are"
[Pre-Chorus: Lettie Lutz]
But I won't let them break me down to dust
I know that there's a place for us
For we are glorious
[Chorus: Lettie Lutz]
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I'm gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me
P.S.
They say to you, "Boy/Girl, your parents are broke you can never make it" and I say this to you like Cristiano Ronaldo will say "Thier hatred can't bring me down, it fuels me to hustle and prove them wrong by getting myself up on top"
They can't tell us we are too fat to make it or we are too short to make it, even if they use our present predicament to try to bring us down or they flaunt their success around us just to break our spirit; I encourage you to look past all these and know that as long as you are not lazy in life and you have your mind and FAITH in GOD at all times and keep HUSTLING, your HUSTLES will pay off one day and they will celebrate you.
Illegal HUSTLING isn't a HUSTLE at all. It's plainly stealing from others and it might be paying you well now but it will one day come rubbing and rubbishing you on your face, HUSTLE the right way in a legal way towards God and man and pray to God to bless your hustles cos' only then you can make it.
Just because you have tried more times and you failed doesn't mean you are a failure, look back to all you have won and try to have fun, put more skills to doing it better cos' that is when you will get it right.
Do not be too carried away by your present hustles that isn't yielding as much as you want, look back to see how far you have come and give thanks. Also ask God for help, to encourage you when you are tired so you can do it better next time you try.
The HUSTLE is real.
I remember during my days in NYSC camp in RIVERS state, we had to be up every morning before day break because we had to be at the parade ground by 4:30am till 6am then straight to the lecture room till 8am. Our break was 30mins to eat and proceed to the lecture room for another session, this would last till 2pm then another 30mins break. Parade ground activities continues by 3pm till 6pm for another 30mins break. When it's 7pm, social night begins till 9:30pm or 10pm (this was our everyday routine except Sundays). You have to wake up 3am to prepare in the morning and believe you me in Rivers state where I camped if I see guys up and bathing just like me around 3am while others were sleeping only to get chased out by the army personnel, I would ask them what state they posted them from and the answer is always the same most times like 98% of them were from Lagos. This is because you can't leave in Lagos and not learn to wake up early. There is already traffic in Lagos by 4am that would most likely keep you on the road to work for another 3hrs.
You strive at school, NYSC and yet hustle to get a job then strive to get to work early. Getting back is another kettle of fish. You get home late and more tired than the work you did for the day because you have hussled tirelessly to get Danfo to your destination. As years goes by you begin to nurture the desire for a car, start building your own house and feed your family. It's a circle that never ends till death for all individuals. Celebrate yourself if no one will...
N.B.
God hates lazy men, as long as you stay faithful to yourself and God, you will definitely make it and eat before/with Kings and president and not just with ordinary men, but you must continue to stay HUMBLE FOR GOD RESIST THE PROUD.
Most times people don't see your HUSTLES, but they can't unsee the RESULT for Ariwo ko ni music oo
