JUDGE OF CHARACTERS

***JUDGE OF CHARACTERS*** 

How do you see other people? 

When you see the next person on the street, on the plane, in the market place etc, what do you think of them? 

We see people, and pass judgement on them based on their past, present, belief, or what we’ve been told and this is wrong. 

I want to share a story; This story is about three young women.

 

* Sandra is a Fashion designer with a baby boy (8years) 

* Mary is a Christian with a baby boy (8year) 

* Becky is a young lady, no baby yet but pregnant (early stage pregnancy).

These three women all met at the hospital. Mary and Sandra's sons were rushed to the surgery room. There was a gun fight at a protest where Sandra and Mary went and their children were victims of bullets fired by the protester. Becky was waiting for her pregnancy test report. 

Mary: (crying and looked at Sandra) sorry about your son, were both of you at the protect today? 

 

Sandra: Yes we were, is that what happened to your son too? 

Mary: Yes it is, now am scared for his life. 

Becky: I am so sorry for both of you; your kids are going to be okay 

Sandra and Mary: Do you have a child here too? 

Becky: NO I don't, I came for my pregnancy test because I fear I may lose my child. I have been having this pain inside.

Sandra and Mary: do not think like that. 

Mary: what of your husband is he not coming? 

Becky: Am not married. 

Mary: hmmm... 

Sandra: Men are not reliable at all and that is why I hustle for myself and take care of my kid. 

Mary: am guessing you too don't have a husband? And I don't know why am talking to prostitutes like both of you, I don't make Friends with sinners like you both. 

Becky: it's not what you think.

**Sandra was so insulted and she cried because Mary is rich, popular and a Christian. Although, her late husband was a corrupt politician.*** 

Becky: Am not a prostitute, I was raped which resulted to this pregnancy and have decided not to kill this child in me. You call yourself a Christian, you sit here judging and comparing me to that prostitute over there whose sex tape the whole world knows. I know your late husband stole all the money you now have as a corrupt politician he was. 

Mary: am not judging you, am only saying if you didn't walk or dress seductively you won’t be a victim of rape. 

Sandra: you all judged me based on my past and viral sex tape before my child was born 8 years ago. What you all don't know is am not the same person you used to know, I am a changed person. 

 Mary, you have insulted and embarrassed me these much and I can't forgive you for this. You call yourself a Christian madam perfect life hmmmm, perfect my foot. 

Doctor 1: Good day ladies 

Women: hi doctor 

Sandra: please how is my child? 

Mary: and mine too doctor? 

Doctor 1: Madam Sandra, your son is really in a bad shape and we have tried all we can. We are monitoring him but please all you can do now is to keep praying for a miracle because there isn't anything we can do again ma. 

Doctor 2: Madam Becky, here is your test report

N.B. Becky checked and found it to be fine, but how can she rejoice where others are sad and crying..?

Doctor 3: Madam Mary, your son needs urgent blood (A negative). We don't have any but we have reached out to the blood bank, they have it and they will deliver in 5 hours’ time... 

 Mary: thank God. I don't care the price, doctor please help my son 

Doctor 3: you don’t understand ma

Mary: what doctor? 

Doctor 3: if we can't get blood within 1hr 30mins, we'll lose this boy ma 

Mary: doctor, I am not compatible and I can't lose the only child I have in this world.

N.B. Sandra, Mary, and Becky are all enemies because they have passed judgement on each other at the hospital. 

Sandra: Becky, it’s okay to be happy, you shouldn't hide it because we are sad 

Mary: If I lose this boy, I will commit suicide 

Becky: thank you Sandra. Mary, your son will not die. 

Sandra: doctor, please am A negative, how can I save this boy's life? 

Mary: you want to help me after all I said to you..? (Cries out louder)

***After 2 hours*** 

Doctor 3: Madam Mary, the surgery was successful and you son is perfectly okay now 

Doctor 1: Madam Sandra, it's a miracle how your son pulled out of it, he is fine 

Becky: am so happy for you two 

Sandra and Mary: we are happy for you too

Becky: I don't have a job and home anymore because my parents sent me away immediately after the rape, am not happy, I just can't kill the baby in me.

Mary: Sandra, I do not deserve what you did for me after what I said to you two and am very sorry. Please do not hesitate to call me if you ever need anything. 

 Becky, come with me and I will buy you a house around and give you a job. 

N.B. the three women became best of friends from that day. Three strangers became enemies in a day and later became best friends. 

LESSON 

 We do not know who our helper will be; I have not much to say than this; 

  ***YOUR WORST ENEMY CAN ONE DAY BE YOUR BEST FRIEND.***

Treat every living being with respect and dignity; never judge another person for you didn't create them.
